Luanda – Argentine firms are more and more interest to opening liaison offices in Angola, Angop learned Friday in Luanda.

The information was released by the Argentine ambassador to Angola, Juan Agustín Caballero.

Speaking to Angop, the diplomat mentioned as an example the company “Tenaris”, that deals in the manufacture of equipment for the oil industry.

"Tenaris is interested to set up a representation in Angola,” said the official, adding that the company exports to Angola 15,000 tonnes of equipment for the oil industry, totalling about Usd 75 million a year.

In addition, the diplomat mentioned “Pluspetrol”, an oil exploration company that also trains Angolans in the field.

"There are many Argentine technicians working in Angola, in the area of upgrading of Angolan personnel,” stressed the ambassador who added it is much more advantageous for Argentine companies to operate with local manpower, rather than with his country’s workers.

Juan Agustín Caballero said that besides the oil sector, Angola can also buy from Argentina foodstuffs and beverage, some of which already found on the Angolan market.
